Alpha Citation #2147241JTL
When this appeared, years ago, it was considered an avante
garde shape.  I think it is still sought after.  We'll find out. It is in
excellent condition and has a wide-open draw.  used.
4.5" long, bowl 2.9" high.  Weight: 1.75 oz., 51 grams. $50
Tsuge (Japan) Ikebana Grade AB.#47 (SOLD 2/26/10)
Very, very similar (if not exactly like) #44. In fact, I could have
sold this pipe to a customer if I could have found it…I thought I
simply duplicated the photo of #44 and priced it lower than that
pipe. Oh well, I found it now, and #44 is now at what this pipe
was then, so this pipe is now going for a lot less than it’s
original $340. How about $280? If my first would-be buyer is
paying attention, he might be glad he waited. Check out the s/g
on this…why is it priced so low?
Stats:5 ¼” long, bowl 1 7/8” high: Weight; 1 ¼ oz. 38 grams.
New. $280
Nubian Head...Austrian Carved Meerschaum #1261904 SW
If you want to know more about this pipe, call or write.  I am no
Meerschaum expert.  I'm arbitrarily pricing it at $150
.(SOLD)
4.2" long, bowl 1.75" high. Weight: 1 oz., 28 grams. Well used.
Meerschaum Cowboy.  Huge in size.  #8698
This is not only a huge piece of high quality block meerschaum,
it is very well carved.  I can't really imagine smoking it, but I can
certainly see it as a showpiece in a den or living room.  By the
way, one could make a case for this being an attempt at John
Wayne.  I wouldn't go too far with this idea, but  I won't
completely dismiss it, either.  Late breaking news...my partner,
David Field thinks this might be a French Cavalier (chevalier)
rather than a cowboy.  Might well be, but the hat looks cowboy.
15" long, bowl 7 1/4" high: Weight; 1 Lb., 10 oz.  730 grams.
New.  Price. $1250
Tsuge (Japan) Volcano Grade CD #44
An oval shanked Volcano style bowl with good, if not
particularly tight straight grain all around the bowl.  It’s a grade
CD and currently sports a price tag of only $340, which is an
extremely favorable $200 under retail.  Just tellin’ ya.
Stats: 4.75” long, bowl 1 7/8” tall, at highest point (bowl rim
angles down toward smoker); Weight 1.48 oz. 42.2 grams. New.
$340
Castello Tampers
The smooth finish is 3 9/16" long, the light blast is 4 3/8" long,
and the dark sandblast is 3 15/16" long (almost). $125 each
Vienna Meerschaum #186752EG (SOLD 2/15/10)
A straightforwward meerschaum of Grp. 4 size, with an open
draw for a meerschaum.  It is in very good condition, with no
dings or scratches on the bowl and a nice patina on the stone.
5.1" long, bowl 1.85" high.  Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 39 grams. $50

Tyrolean Meerschaum #10244309 (SOLD 2/10/02)
I would venture this is a legitimately old meerschaum, and it
does seem that all of the parts are original, with the only one in
doubt (to my untrained eyes) being the tree branch of a shank.
It appears to be in too good condition to be 125 yrs. old.  But
who knows?  The stem is bone, and has a tooth hole in it.  The
bowl is darkened from smoking, but it's crisp at the rim and
aside from some dings, is entirely intact.  Used. Price: $50
7.6" long, bowl 3.35" high. Weight: 3 oz., 85 grams

M. Sorenson, Bergen, Norway #4105033
Just a good old Norwegian fisherman.  It's in exc. cond. Used.
5.65" long, bowl 1.85" high.  Weight:  1.25 oz., 36 grams. $50
Antique with ornamental trim #4105035
This photo represents the actual size of the pipe.  The stem
might be amber, or it might be an early plastic.  You can bet the
trim is not gold, although it may be copper, which ain't cheap
now either.  It is quite clean and can be smoked.  Used. $50
3.5" long, bowl 1.75 " high.  Weight: 7/8 oz., 25 grams.
Strambach Calabash from Vienna Medium  #6275521SOLD
How many true gourd calabash producers are there?  I only
know of Strambach, although there may be one or two others.
This was acquired from a European distributor of pipes.  Again,
I don't know of any U.S. distributors handling gourd
meerschaums.  This pipe is approx. 3 3/4" tall.  New. Price: $135
Strambach Gourd Calabash-Large #6275522 (Sold 1/21/10)
As you can see by the smile on Marlene's face, these Calabash
pipes provide almost guaranteed satisfaction.  I feel confident
enough to say that they are, indeed, fully guaranteed, but what
if I suddenly drop dead; who would guarantee them then, huh?
And I don't need people saying bad things about me not
keeping my word just because I'm dead, so I qualify the
guarantee with an "almost."  this bowl is almost 4" long,
depending upon where you want to start measuring.  New. $150
Hilson Fantasia 32785766
This Belgian-made pipe is in excellent condition.  There is not
much to say about the pipe; the Fantasia has its devotees and
this will either be a model they want to add to their collection or
not.  FYI, the nomenclature on the stem is about perfect. $45
5.3" long, bowl 1.5" high.  Weight:  2 5/8 oz., 72 grams.
Michail Revyagin #1186348
This fine young pipe maker found an exceptional block of wood
from which to fashion this natural, clean, tightly straight-grained
pipe.  The grain, as is so typical, does fall off at the front and
back, but perfection is hard to find, no?  New.  Price: $950
5.5" long, bowl 2 1/8" high.  Weight:  1 7/8 oz., 52 grams.
Michail Revyagin Butterfly #8285976
Michail Revyagin is clearly one of the most creative, artistic and
committed of the new breed of pipe makers.  Michail eschews
electric tools (except for the cutting of his stems) and actually
uses a hand drill to cut his holes.  In reading his approach to
finding the best use of the wood, I am reminded of Teddy
Knudsen, who also starts and stops on the same piece of briar
until the shape eventually reveals itself....sometimes over a
long stretch of time.  You can, and should, read about him  in
the Fall 2009 issue of "Pipes & Tobaccos" magazine.  New.
5.1" long, bowl 1.95" high.  Weight:  2 oz., 57 grams. $950
