Tsuge Ikebana #712 8436JG (RESERVED)
This pipe might have been made strictly for the local,
Japanese, market because there is no grade on it, unless the
Japanese symbol in a circle is a grade.  Nonetheless, it has
good straight grain all around the pipe, with no let up.  As you
can see, the Bird's Eye on the bottom of the bowl is excellent.
5 1/4" long, bowl 2 1/4" tall.  Weight: 2 1/4 oz., 64 grams. $250
Meerschaum Cowboy.  Monstrous in size.  #8698
This is not only a huge piece of high quality block meerschaum,
it is very well carved.  I can't really imagine smoking it, but I can
certainly see it as a showpiece in a den or living room.  By the
way, one could make a case for this being an attempt at John
Wayne.  I wouldn't go too far with this idea, but  I won't
completely dismiss it, either.  Late breaking news...my partner,
David Field thinks this might be a French Cavalier (chevalier)
rather than a cowboy.  Might well be, but the hat looks cowboy.
15" long, bowl 7 1/4" high: Weight; 1 Lb., 10 oz.  730 grams.
New.  Price. $1250
Tsuge (Japan) Volcano Grade CD #44
An oval shanked Volcano style bowl with good, if not
particularly tight straight grain all around the bowl.  It’s a grade
CD and currently sports a price tag of only $340, which is an
extremely favorable $200 under retail.  Just tellin’ ya.
Stats: 4.75” long, bowl 1 7/8” tall, at highest point (bowl rim
angles down toward smoker); Weight 1.48 oz. 42.2 grams. New.
$340
Castello Tampers
The smooth finish is 3 9/16" long.  Only the smooth is left. $125
Tsuge Ikebana C #514 7888MB
One of the great, classic, comfortable-to-smoke shapes that
Tsuge makes.  And maybe the best part of their finer pipes is
the hand-cut stem.  This one is in excellent condition with a lot
of good straight grain.  Used. Price: $250.
5.3" long, bowl 1.95" tall.  Weight: 1.25 oz., 36 grams.

Chacom Premier #712 8463
The shank is certainly two pieces and either one alone would
make a more than respectably long shank.  The pipe is in exc.
cond., the draw is actually pretty good and the weight is light.
9 1/2" long, bowl 1 13/16" tall.  Weight: 1 1/2 oz., 44 grams.$45
Hilson Fantasia 32785766 (SOLD 6/25/10)
This Belgian-made pipe is in excellent condition.  There is not
much to say about the pipe; the Fantasia has its devotees and
this will either be a model they want to add to their collection or
not.  FYI, the nomenclature on the stem is about perfect. $45
5.3" long, bowl 1.5" high.  Weight:  2 5/8 oz., 72 grams.
Michail Revyagin #1186348
This fine young pipe maker found an exceptional block of wood
from which to fashion this natural, clean, tightly straight-grained
pipe.  The grain, as is so typical, does fall off at the front and
back, but perfection is hard to find, no?  New.  Price: $950
5.5" long, bowl 2 1/8" high.  Weight:  1 7/8 oz., 52 grams.
Michail Revyagin Butterfly #8285976
Michail Revyagin is clearly one of the most creative, artistic and
committed of the new breed of pipe makers.  Michail eschews
electric tools (except for the cutting of his stems) and actually
uses a hand drill to cut his holes.  In reading his approach to
finding the best use of the wood, I am reminded of Teddy
Knudsen, who also starts and stops on the same piece of briar
until the shape eventually reveals itself....sometimes over a
long stretch of time.  You can, and should, read about him  in
the Fall 2009 issue of "Pipes & Tobaccos" magazine.  New.
5.1" long, bowl 1.95" high.  Weight:  2 oz., 57 grams. $950
CAO Meerschaum #214 7269FH (SOLD 6/10/10)
A very well executed reticulated finish on this long shanked
pipe, that also has an open draw, especially for a meerschaum.
The pipe is about 7 1/8" long and the bowl is 2 1/4" high.
It is new, and the price is right: $75.
Tsuge Ikebana A # 514 7894MB
There is something different about the quality of blast on this
pipe.  Perhaps the Japanese use a different material to create
the blast.  It is a shallow blast, but it is also gives a high
definition to the grain.  Used. Price: $175
4.8" long, bowl 1.88" tall.  Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 40 grams.
Castello Accessories #411 3907JT
In the top picture, we have a Castello Roll-Up tobacco pouch
that has never been used.  It comes in the original box. It's $120
In the bottom photo we have two Castello tampers.
The solid silver tamper on the left, which has never been used,
is shown with its presentation box.  It is $225
The tamper with the briar is
(SOLD 6/20/10).  It is $175.
Hand Carved Antoniewski Mark Twain #514 8214
The point of this display is not so much to try to sell you a briar
carving of Mark Twain as to alert and inform you of the
possibilities provided my Antoniewski.  He can carve almost
anything in briar, and if you want your visage done, he can do
that, or anyone that for whom you can get him some
photographs.  Some of your historic heroes might already be
available in briar, and you can ask me if you have a request.
I can't quote all prices, but I suppose this one is representative,
and it is a large pipe, comes in a fitted case with an open draw
and an air hole on the bottom of the chamber and is $850.
